The Louvre Museum is open from 9am to 6pm every day except Tuesday and from 9am to 9:45pm on Wednesdays and Fridays. New Galleries devoted to Classical Greek and Hellenistic Art
On 7 July, after extensive redevelopment, the Louvre opened to the public the new galleries devoted to Classical Greek and Hellenistic art (450-30 BC).
Housed in the southwest corner of Court Square, this set forms two galleries belonging to former royal apartments, which are continued by the famous Caryatids room, completing the chronological route dedicated to ancient Greek art.

During this first exhibition dedicated to Meroe, the capital of a powerful empire located on the banks of the Nile, two hundred works illustrate the majesty of this ancient civilization that combines African, Egyptian and Greco-Roman influences.
Located in Sudan, two hundred kilometers north of Khartoum today, the city of Meroe, the capital of the kingdom, is known for its pyramids devoted for the kings and queens who have dominated the region between 270 BC and 350 AD.
Consisting mainly of loans from the museum of Khartoum - including the famous gilded bronze statue of a king archer, this exhibition evokes the uniqueness and power of this empire.
The main topics are everyday life, the craft, thr social systems, the kings and their symbols of power, the role of queens, known as the candaces, the cults.
